Child Protection Guidelines
All members of staff in a school, even on a supply basis, have a positive role to perform in the safeguarding of children. Every staff member can play a part in the prevention of abuse and neglect through their awareness of child protection polies and procedures. Always check what the policy is with the school you are in. As a general guide, if you have a concern about a child, it is important that you report it without delay to the Headteacher or the safeguarding lead at the school.
If a child chooses to disclose to you that he/she has been or is the subject of some form of abuse, it is vital that you listen to the disclosure and not interview the child or ask the child to repeat the account. Avoid asking leading questions as they may invalidate your evidence (and the child’s) in any later prosecution. Finally, never examine the child. Do, however, explain what is going to happen next i.e., that you are going to have to inform the Headteacher of the designated safeguarding lead. You should never promise confidentiality where an allegation of abuse has been made.
LXP Specialists has a no physical contact policy and any form of physical contact with pupils must be avoided. If your role requires you to carry out personal care duties within a SEND setting you must not be left alone during this procedure. You must never touch or hold a pupil in a way that might be considered indecent. In such situations, always communicate clearly and enlist support from other staff members.
Ensure you ask the school to see their procedures. Make yourself aware of these procedures and follow them. Please inform LXP Specialists and the school of any accident or incident that occurs while you are with pupils.
I understand all of the above and agree to complete the relevant safeguarding training, if I do not already hold a certificate
Confidentiality & GDPR Statement

I give consent to use my information for the application process, payroll and related services that LXP Specialists need to acquire and retain certain information about me as an individual.
